This is one of my most absolute proudest pieces of mine. The inspiration for this came from a high quality photograph of a historical reenactor. This acrylic painting is one of the first paintings where I started to really push and challenge my artistic skills. This piece took a very long time to paint each and every fine detail. The painting of the fabric was a challenge to get just right… but then, once I started to paint the reflections in the armour the painting began to come alive… Mirroring the soft, ethereal light through the suggestive green foliage surroundings, that then contrasts with the strength of the armour. This painting feels like it holds many stories.
